"Featured Guest Speaker"

WABC-TV Eyewitness News Reporter

Toni Yates

We are excited to welcome Toni Yates, WABC-TV Eyewitness News Reporter,

as our featured guest speaker this year!

About Toni Yates . . .

Toni Yates is the New Jersey reporter for WABC Eyewitness News in New York. She joined Channel 7 in 2006. Toni began her career in journalism many years ago at WTOC TV in Savannah, Georgia, after a successful internship in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. She has worked as a journalist in Norfolk, VA, Lancaster, PA, and Philadelphia, PA, where she served as the weekday anchor at WPHL TV. Toni likes to say she simply jumped in her car and headed north up I-95 for the past 20 years.

Her biggest, brightest accomplishments are her children. Daughter Sarah Austyn recently graduated from Rowan University, and is now an on-air radio personality. Daughter Alexis Naomi will graduate from the University of Richmond with honors in May and prepare for law school. Son Gabriel Wendell is a 14 year old determined to stay on the Honor Roll, with the promise of inheriting his sisters' car.

Toni spends her best times mentoring many in the next generation of journalists, giving of her time because of the attention given to her when she was a mere sixth grader with bright eyes, hoping to walk in the shoes of the first female journalists she followed in her hometown.
