Friars In Title Game Of TOC, Play Tonight

The St. Anthony Friar’s basketball team will play Plainfield tonight in the title game of the Tournament of Champions. The Friars will be vying for its 12 Tournament of Champions title. Last year they won the title as well as the mythical national championship. The game will be played at the IZOD Center at 8:00 PM. There will not be any advanced tickets available through the school. All tickets can be purchased tomorrow at the gate starting at 5:00 PM. Don’t bother going to the arena today to purchase tickets because all seating is general admission. Mr. Daniel Kelly, Dean of the Junior and Senior classes, loves challenges and St. Anthony High School. As a result he is donating his person time and energy in order to raise funds for St. Anthony’s while competing in an Ironman Triathlon Competition on August 11, 2012. The documentary that chronicled the 2007-08 St. Anthony squad will return to the spotlight this weekend. An updated version of “The Street Stops Here” along with a post-film roundtable with the Hall of Fame coach, aired this past weekend and will continue to play throughout the next several weeks on ESPNU. We are happy to announce that as of this month St. Anthony’s has received over $2.4 million in scholarships to schools like Fordham University, Howard University, Iona College, UCONN, UCLA and many more. 18 of our students have been awarded Merit scholarships.
