Saint Anthony Students Attend
Girl’s Career Institute at Douglas College !
Recently, two of our students, Zhane Hayes and Noelle Staudt, applied and were chosen to attend the Girls Career Institute at Douglas Residential College at Rutgers. This four day experience is for girls who have just finished their junior year in high school. It is sponsored by the NJ State Federation of Women’s Clubs. It’s purpose is to provide the young women with exposure to different career paths through presentations by professional women. It also gives the girls a taste of dorm life in college. Lots of activities are used to help the girls get to know each other, e.g. zumba lessons, crafts, talent & fashion shows, and chorus etc.. This was the first year that SAHS girls attended with Housemother Maryjane Reilly, co-chair of the Women’s Guild. A great time was had by all!

Upcoming Career Day & how YOU can help!!
Our career day program, sponsored by the Women’s Guild, is designed to provide our young female students with valuable information about a plethora of careers they can choose from after listening to current professionals working in various industries. This important day gives our students the opportunity to connect and network with wonderful guest speakers from all ends of the career spectrum. We try to make our program as interactive as possible; any handouts, activities, short movie clips, q&a, are all encouraged.
If you, or anyone you know, might be interested in giving up a few hours of your time to speak at our next career day in 2013, please feel free to contact us at the development office. Whether your background is medical, design, corporate, law enforcement, event planning, finance, etc., we would be more than welcome to incorporate as many different fields as possible! (We do have a limited number of space for speakers, so the sooner we hear from you- the better!)

Our First Women’s Career Day!
April 2012
Our first ever St. Anthony High School Girls Career Day for young women, sponsored by the SAHS Women’s Guild was held at the school on April 18, 2012. Students enjoyed hearing from speakers who came from a wide variety of educational and professional backgrounds. The students heard the professional & personal stories from speakers representing the following professions: Pharmacy Manager, an Attorney, HR Advisor, Senior Researcher at Exxon Mobil and Special Agent for Counterterrorism with the FBI. Engaging with our young women in these types of thought-provoking conversations helps them articulate their goals and visions – and that is why we felt it was important to find female leaders who could address the female student body at Saint Anthony High School during the first annual Girls Career Day.
